Fraizer is an 18-month-old, 12 pound, purebred Shih Tzu. He was picked up as a stray by a local Animal Control and taken to the shelter. No one ever claimed him or even asked about him. It's no wonder, he looked awful. His dull dark brown coat was horribly overgrown and absolutely filthy, with a long, dirty white beard that touched the ground. (See the 3rd picture.) He seemed withdrawn and just sad. Not a good presentation for folks looking to adopt at a shelter. We are so glad that he was rescued and brought to us.

When he first arrived at his foster home, he got along with all the pups of various shapes and sizes, but didn't really interact with them. He was friendly with his foster family but, again, didn't really seek out attention.   We were able to get him into the groomer after about 4 days and he is actually a beautiful, Liver colored boy, with almost human-like, soft hair, a white goatee and a bit of white on his chest. The difference was AMAZING. Not just in his looks... his whole personality seemed to be lighter, happier and friendlier. He enjoyed the ride in the car, walked well on the leash and literally holds his head up now. That afternoon he was chasing a ball with one of his foster siblings and snuggled up with his foster mom that evening. He is a sweet, sweet little boy. He has been neutered for some time and is doing really well with house training. He is heartworm negative, has been brought up to date on all vaccinations, has been wormed and started on flea and heartworm preventions.

His adoption fee is $300 and he will make some lucky family a wonderful companion. He is so very ready for his forever home!
